Description

The fork has changed many times in its design but it was in the 18th century when the four ‘tines’ of the fork started to become a staple in design. Its four prongs are designed to stop food slipping through on the way to the mouth and the slight curve makes it more efficent at this. While trends have sometimes dictated 2 and 3 prongs the Beauchief uses 4 meaning its designed with not just aesthetics in mind but also functunality. Good design emphasizes the usefulness of a product whilst disregarding anything that could detract from it. We are all used to throw away designs, Beauchief was intended from the outset to give a lifetime use and to grow as a range and provide a modern classic. Back to purity. Back to simplicity.
